Mavroudi Arachovas
Introduction
Mavroudi Arachovas is a unique and dynamic expression of the Mavroudi family, perfectly adapted to the mountainous and demanding environment of Boeotia. Although the name 'Mavroudi' is found throughout Greece, this particular Arachova variant has its own viticultural characteristics, making it a valuable ally for the growers of the mountainous regions of Parnassos.
Tasting Notes
Due to its name, we expect a wine with deep color and notable tannic structure.
Gastronomy
This wine is the ideal companion for the rich, mountainous dishes of Boeotia, such as spit-roasted lamb, game, and local formaela cheese.
Terroir
Cultivation at altitude gives Mavroudi Arachovas unique advantages: Mountainous Character: The temperature difference between day and night in Parnassos helps maintain acidity and develop intense aromatic compounds. Historicity: Arachova has a long tradition of 'black wines,' with Mavroudi being the backbone of local production for decades, providing color and body to the region's wines.
