Loupakis Estate
Intro
The winery is located in Kares Kissamou, in the semi-mountainous zone of the Municipality of Platanias, Chania, at the top of the Gra-Lygia hill, overlooking the White Mountains and the Cretan Sea.
Estate
The history begins in the 1970s when grandfather Charidimos Loupakis traded table grapes. His son, Manolis Loupakis, proceeded with replanting, creating a linear vineyard that was awarded. Today, the reins are held by Miltiadis Loupakis (oenologist) and Aspasia Loupakis, bringing a new scientific and qualitative dimension to the family tradition.
Vineyards
The estate is located on a hillside with well-drained red soils, mild Mediterranean altitude, a combination of mountain and sea breeze. White varieties: Vilana. Red varieties: Kotsifali, Mandilari, Cabernet Sauvignon. Signature labels: Red Peak — Cabernet Sauvignon aged 12 months in oak barrels; rich and robust. Hadi Red — fresh, fruity version of Kotsifali. Hadi White — cool and pleasant wine from Vilana.
Tourism
The winery is visitable by appointment, offering tours of the vineyards and production area, tastings accompanied by the producers themselves, an authentic experience in a tranquil environment.
