Siflogo Winery – Lefkada
Intro
Siflogo Winery is known for the authentic, alternative experience it offers, emphasizing natural wine expressions and minimal intervention.
Estate
Siflogo Winery is located in the village of Platystoma in Lefkada, at an altitude of approximately 500 meters. It was founded in 1994 by Dionysis and Maria Papanikolopoulos and is now continued with the involvement of their son, Vasilis.
Vineyards
The winery is certified organic, without chemicals, fertilizers, or pesticides. The cultivation (~1.8 ha) is done exclusively by hand, on steep hills with poor limestone soils. It focuses on preserving and highlighting indigenous varieties of Lefkada, such as Vertzami, Vardea, Mavropatrino, Chlori, Thiako, Apsrovartzamo, Kokkinostafylo, with extremely limited yields. Winemaking takes place in semi-covered underground stone spaces, with minimal stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. Production reaches approximately 13,000 bottles annually.
Tourism
Siflogo offers an authentic, alternative experience. Visitors taste wines in a candlelit cellar, without tourist excesses, in a calm and personal atmosphere. Vasilis guides the tasting with scientific knowledge and liveliness. The tasting costs approximately €10 per person.
