Giannikos Winery
Intro
Giannikos Winery is located in Corinth, Peloponnese, with vineyards also on the historic hills of Mycenae. Today, it is recognized as one of Greece's leading organic wineries.
Estate
The family's winemaking history began in 1896, but after the original vineyard was destroyed by fire, the winery was reestablished in 1996 by Michalis Giannikos.
Vineyards
Approximately 80 stremmas are cultivated, all certified organic, in two main locations: around the winery in Corinth and in Mycenae. Varieties: Greek: Agiorgitiko, Malagouzia, Roditis, Kydonitsa, Avgoustiatis. International: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, Viognier. The production is single-varietal, aiming to express the terroir in each label.
Tourism
The winery is open to visitors by appointment. The experience includes: Vineyard tour, Winery and underground cellar tour, Tasting (€20) in a specially designed area.
