Akriotou Winery
Estate
The Akriotou micro-winery is located in Plataies, Boeotia, at the foothills of Mount Kithairon (280–380 m). It was founded in 2017 by oenologist Vasiliki Akriotou, in an old storage space converted into a modern small winery with stainless steel tanks. The goal is to produce wines with a strong terroir character and authentic identity.
Vineyards
The vineyards are both privately owned and collaborative, with a northeastern orientation, cool summers, and wet winters. The varieties include Savatiano (40–60 years old, traditionally goblet-trained), Assyrtiko, Malagouzia, as well as international varieties such as Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Notable is the collaboration with a Pinot Noir vineyard in mountainous Aigialeia (700 m). Yields range from 900–1200 kg/stremma, aiming for maximum quality. The winery has developed different series with distinct character: Oreivatis: Savatiano Old Vines, Assyrtiko–Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Wild Yeasts/Unfiltered, Rosé. Erimitis: White, Rosé, Red (Wild Yeasts). The Blender: White, Rosé, Red, Brut White. Amfora Toupee (Semi-sweet). The 'Oreivatis' and 'Erimitis' series emphasize authenticity, while 'The Blender' shows an experimental and more flexible character.
Tourism
The winery is open to visitors daily (11:00–19:00), by appointment. Two tasting programs are available: Akriotou Welcome: 4 wines + cheeses — €12/person.
