Limnos Wines Co-Op
Intro
The winery covers an area of 10,000 sq.m., with a production space of 3,500 sq.m. and a tank capacity of 35,000 HL. It has a complete bottling and packaging unit and is certified with ISO 22000:2005 for food safety.
Estate
The Union was founded in 1937 in Myrina, near the port of Agios Nikolaos. Initially, it was involved in cotton processing; since the 1960s, it has focused exclusively on wine production.
Vineyards
It collaborates with 450 producers in vineyards covering a total of ~350 stremmas. Cultivation is in a traditional goblet arrangement (bush vine), with a height of 40–50 cm. Soils: volcanic, dry, well-drained. Main varieties: Muscat of Alexandria → PDO Limnos, for dry & sweet whites. Limnio → a historical red variety with ancient Greek references.
