Tsiardakas Winery
Intro
Tsiardakas Winery is located in Zarko, Trikala, at the foothills of Mount Zarko, and represents a modern expression of the family viticultural tradition that spans over three generations. Under the guidance of Vangelis Tsiardakas, the winery combines scientific knowledge (oenology) with a deep respect for the Thessalian land, aiming to produce wines that balance power and finesse.
Vineyards
The privately-owned vineyards are situated in a prime location in Zarko, at an altitude that allows for proper air circulation and ideal sun exposure. The soil is clay-loam with good drainage, a feature that imparts structure and complexity to the wines. The winery successfully cultivates international varieties such as Syrah, Merlot, and Chardonnay, while placing special emphasis on Assyrtiko, which in the Trikala region acquires a particularly aromatic and "full" character.
Tourism
Tsiardakas Winery is a welcoming destination for wine enthusiasts touring Thessaly (very close to the route to Meteora). Visitors have the opportunity to tour the production facilities, see the winemaking process up close, and taste the estate's labels (such as the "Tsiardakas" series and the popular "Zarko") in the tasting room. The experience is completed by engaging with the winery's people, who passionately share the secrets of the Thessalian vineyard.
