Stamatis Nikolaou Winery
Intro
The winery emphasizes quality, handcrafted wine, and highlighting the local identity of Skyros. With a strong presence on social media, it strengthens its relationship with wine enthusiasts and modern consumers.
Estate
Stamatis Nikolaou Winery is located in Skyros and began its operations in 2014. Its founder, Stamatis Nikolaou, with personal vision and creative energy, developed a privately-owned vineyard of 30 stremmas and established the winery as a dynamic boutique presence in the island vineyard.
Vineyards
The vineyards are cultivated with respect for the local terroir and host both Greek indigenous and international varieties: Indigenous: Malagousia, Roditis, Assyrtiko. International: Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache Rouge, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. The winery's main series is “LALARI,” which includes: White: Malagousia & Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé: Grenache Rouge & Cabernet, Red: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Grenache Rouge. All labels mature for ~11 months in French and American oak barrels, gaining complexity and structure. Additionally, standouts include: Assyrtiko: with extended lees contact and maturation in lightly toasted barrels — producing wines with complex character and aging potential. Roditis (2023): a new addition, showcasing the local variety with a modern style.
Tourism
There are no published details for organized tastings or tours. However, due to the boutique nature of the winery and its open communication, it is likely to accept visitors by appointment.
