Gofa Estate
Intro
Gofa Estate is located in Koutsi, Nemea, one of the most renowned viticultural destinations in the Peloponnese. The family has been involved in viticulture since 1959, when they began wine production using traditional methods at a family level. A new era began with Konstantinos Gofas, who introduced modern equipment and advanced techniques, transforming the family tradition into a dynamic winemaking venture with an export-oriented character.
Estate
The family has been involved in viticulture since 1959. Koutsi, in the heart of Nemea, is one of the most historic and distinguished zones for Agiorgitiko, with microclimates offering great diversity and wines with international appeal.
Vineyards
The estate has approximately 80 stremmas of privately owned vineyards in recognized viticultural areas such as Buzzard, Simarkou, and Zennes Paliohori. Each zone is cultivated with tailored techniques, depending on the microclimate and soil, with the application of integrated management. The cultivation includes indigenous and international varieties: Agiorgitiko, Malagouzia, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Gris. The annual production amounts to approximately 80,000 bottles, of which 80% are exported to markets such as America, Europe, and Asia. Signature Labels: Gofas Nemea – 100% Agiorgitiko from selected vineyards, with cherry aromas, chocolate notes, and a smoky finish. Romeo & Juliet – a blend of Chardonnay–Malagouzia, aromatic, elegant, and multi-layered dry white.
Tourism
Gofa Estate is open to visitors and is often described as a 'paradise for wine lovers.' Visitors can tour the vineyards, taste wines in tastings accompanied by local delicacies, and participate in themed events such as yoga sessions, sound therapy, and private events within the natural landscape of Nemea.
