Peloponnese
The Peloponnese is one of Greece’s most significant and historic wine-producing regions, with extensive vineyards spanning from the highlands of Arcadia to the coastal zones of Achaia and Messenia. The climate is primarily Mediterranean, with notable variation due to elevation and proximity to the sea, while diverse soils contribute to wines with strong local identity. The region includes important zones such as PDO Nemea, PDO Mantinia, PDO Patra, PDO Muscat of Patras, PDO Muscat of Rio Patras, and PDO Mavrodaphne of Patras, along with many PGI Peloponnese areas and sub-regional indications that reflect its viticultural richness.
