Palivou Estate
Intro
Palivou Estate is located in Ancient Nemea, just 800 meters from the archaeological site, in the heart of the Nemea PDO zone. The family tradition was transformed into a modern form in 1995, when the old traditional wine press was converted into one of the most recognized wineries in the area. Today, it boasts over 300 stremmas of vineyards, making it one of the largest producers in the zone, with a natural emphasis on Agiorgitiko.
Estate
Founder and winemaker Giorgos Palivos guides the estate with a focus on sustainable and ecological cultivation. Palivou Estate has received significant accolades in international competitions, such as medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2025. Its wines are exported to Europe and North America, while maintaining a strong presence in the Greek market.
Vineyards
Over 300 stremmas of vineyards with Agiorgitiko as the dominant variety. The philosophy includes experimentation with techniques and varieties. Labels: La Vie en Rose – Moschofilero, Stone Hills – Chardonnay & Malagouzia, Viognier, Vissino, Bee, Anemos Red, Ploutos (Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah), Noema (Agiorgitiko–Cabernet Sauvignon–Syrah).
Tourism
Palivou Estate is one of the top wine tourism destinations in Nemea, with approximately 4,500 visitors annually. The tasting area offers comprehensive experiences: tours, seminars, pairing dinners. A unique feature is the Palivou Wine Train — an old train carriage transformed into a tasting area with views of the vineyards, open from May to October.
