Nemeion Estate
Intro
George Vasileiou combines family tradition with French oenological expertise, creating high-quality wines with a strong identity that express the terroir of Nemea. The estate treats wine as a product of culture and art, with absolute dedication to quality.
Estate
Nemeion Estate was founded in 2004 by oenologist George Vasileiou. The winery is one of the first isobaric ones in Greece and is an architectural gem: five levels without windows, with atriums that naturally illuminate down to the underground cellar.
Vineyards
The organically certified (DIO) vineyards cover approximately 115 stremmas, distributed across three areas: Koutsi (20 stremmas), Petri (35 stremmas), and Asprokambos (60 stremmas), at an altitude of 420–650 meters. The planting is dense (600–700 vines/stremma) and the plantings have an average age of 15–25 years. Approximately 20,000 bottles are produced annually, divided into 10,000 Reserve ('Nemeion Estate') and 10,000 Grande Reserve 'Hegemon'. All wines age exclusively in barriques and are designed for long-term aging, which can reach 15–20 years.
Tourism
The winery is open to visitors by appointment and offers a comprehensive experience: vineyard tours, presentation of the facilities and museum, tastings, meals, and accommodation in luxurious suites.
