Karavitakis Vineyards
Intro
The winery is located in the village of Pontikiana, in the Kolymbari area of Chania. The Karavitakis family has a long tradition in viticulture and winemaking, which gained new momentum in 1998 under the guidance of chemical oenologist Manolis Karavitakis, transforming the estate into a model of modern production.

Vineyards
The estate spans approximately 40 stremmas of privately owned vineyards and collaborates with local producers. The terroir is characterized by mild elevation, limestone soils, and direct sea influence. A rich range of varieties is cultivated: White: Sultanina, Malagousia, Vidiano, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc. Red: Kotsifali, Liatiko, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Grenache Rouge, Sangiovese, Refosco, Nebbiolo, Tempranillo. Indicative labels: Kompsos Liatiko, Klima White, Elia Blend, Malagousia, Tempranillo Bold, Kotsifali, Moscato Spinas.
Tourism
The winery is open to visitors year-round (10:00–18:00), by appointment. It offers tours of the vineyards and production area, two tasting rooms, and a special point of interest: the small chapel of Saint Tryphon, the patron saint of winemakers.
