Diamantakis Winery
Intro
Diamantakis Winery is located in the village of Kato Asites, southwest of Heraklion, at the foothills of Psiloritis, at an altitude of approximately 450 meters.
Estate
Founded in 2007 by the Diamantakis brothers, Ioannis, Michail, and Zacharias. Ioannis and Michail, third-generation viticulturists, manage the vineyards, while Zacharias, an oenologist, is responsible for winemaking and wine promotion. The winery is modern, fully integrated into the landscape, and its labels have received international accolades in competitions such as the Decanter World Wine Awards and Challenge International du Vin.
Vineyards
The estate began with 70 and later acquired an additional 25 stremmas of privately owned vineyards, on terraces with a northern orientation and sea views. The limestone soil and unique microclimate with sea currents offer excellent cultivation conditions. Indigenous varieties: Vidiano, Liatiko, Mandilaria, Assyrtiko. International & complementary: Chardonnay, Syrah, Malvasia di Candia Aromatica. Diamantopetra (white & red) – the winery's first bottling (2009). Prinos – white (Malvasia–Chardonnay) & red Syrah. Vidiano 2024 – with a gold medal at Decanter 2025 (95 points), an excellent expression of the terroir. Petali – in white and red, with impressive reviews from Jancis Robinson and Decanter.
Tourism
The winery welcomes visitors with tours of the vineyards and production areas, as well as tastings.
