Domaine Zacharioudakis
Intro
Domaine Zacharioudakis is located at the top of the 'Orthí Petra' hill, at an altitude of approximately 500 meters, in the area of Moirai, south of Heraklion prefecture.
Estate
Founded by journalist Stelios Zacharioudakis and his wife Victoria around 2000, the modern winery was completed in 2009.
Vineyards
The vineyards, certified organic, are planted on stone terraces on the steep slopes of the hill, covering approximately 2,000 sq.m. The limestone and rocky soil, combined with the microclimate shaped by the sea and surrounding mountains, impart exceptional aromatic intensity and freshness to the wines. Cultivated varieties include: Red: Kotsifali, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. White: Vilana, Vidiano, Malvasia di Candia (and Aromatica), Sauvignon Blanc. Indicative labels: Vidiano, Codix, Orthí Petra, Red, Victoria (rosé), Kotsifali.

The estate is open to visitors year-round and offers: Tours of the vineyards and facilities, Wine tastings with panoramic views, Visits to a traditional wine press, Participation in harvest and pressing (Sep–Oct), Culinary experiences with local Cretan specialties, On-site sales shop.
