NOEMA Winery
Intro
NOEMA Winery was founded in 2020 in Xino Nero, within the PDO zone of Amyntaio in Florina, by American investor David Wittig. It is a virtual winery, without its own facilities or vineyards, collaborating with local growers and wineries to produce wines. The name “NOEMA” (meaning) reflects the philosophy of offering authentic expressions of the Amyntaio terroir, with a modern oenological approach and international orientation.
Estate
NOEMA Winery was founded in 2020 in Xino Nero, within the PDO zone of Amyntaio in Florina, by American investor David Wittig. Despite its short period of operation, NOEMA has already gained international recognition and was included in the 50 Great Greek Wines 2023.
Vineyards
NOEMA does not own vineyards; instead, it collaborates with selected local producers to secure high-quality grapes. The dominant variety is Xinomavro, while small batches of Sauvignon Blanc are also vinified. The philosophy is based on minimal intervention and creating wines that capture the identity of the zone. Signature Labels: Eruption – rosé from 100% Xinomavro, PDO Amyntaio; Invicta – red Xinomavro aged for 8 months in oak barrels; Xinomavro Blanc de Noir – white vinification from Xinomavro; Sauvignon Blanc Limited Cuvée – limited production of 1,000 bottles.
Tourism
NOEMA operates exclusively through collaborating wineries in the area and does not yet have its own facilities or visitor spaces. However, there are plans for the future creation of a winery to welcome visitors.
