The winery produces wines from Greek and local Aegean varieties, with an emphasis on quality and tradition. It features an underground cellar with French oak barrels for the aging of selected wines.
Estate
The wine history of the Kefalas family begins in the early 1960s in the village of Kourounia in Amani, northwestern Chios. In 2004, Dimitris Kefalas established a modern winery at the location "Schoinies," near Volissos. In 2010, Pantelis Kefalas founded "Domaine P. Kefalas."
Vineyards
The vineyards of Domaine P. Kefalas are located in Kourounia of Amani and the wider area of Volissos, covering approximately 30 stremmas. They are characterized by low yields of 800-1,000 kg per stremma and rugged limestone soils. The main varieties include Assyrtiko, Athiri, Roditis, Savatiano, Mandilaria, Fokiano, Agiannitis, and Chiotiko Krasero. The production includes dry, semi-sweet, and sweet wines, with labels such as Evodias, Theikos, Melanitis, Idioniros, Schoinabelos, Santa Markella White, Santa Markella Rosé, and Liberté.
Tourism
Domaine Kefalas is open to visitors by prior arrangement. Guests can taste the estate's wines and participate in cultural events. There is a retail shop on the premises.
