Estate
Tsantiris Winery is located in the village of Ano Proespera in northwestern Ikaria, at an altitude of 350–450 meters, overlooking the Halaris Gorge and the Aegean Sea. Its history dates back four generations, and in 2000, Kostas Tsantiris, along with his wife Domina and family, returned from Athens to revive the family winery.
Vineyards
The vineyards are cultivated on traditional dry-farmed foothills, using organic methods and manual care. The main varieties are: Fokiano, Mandilaria (Kountouro), Begleri, and Assyrtiko. The philosophy focuses on low yields, indigenous yeasts, and minimal intervention to highlight the authentic terroir of Ikaria. The collection includes: Begleri, Fokiano Rosé, Lagiros, Fokiano Blanc de Noir, Akratos, Vitina Begleri & Vitina Kountouro, Melisanty. All labels bear the PGI Ikaria indication.
Tourism
The winery offers a comprehensive experience: Tours of the vineyards, winery, and cellar with views of the Aegean. Tastings of 3, 5, or 8 wines, with the option to try amphora-aged wines. Facilities: shop, WC, pet-friendly and family-friendly services, dining area. Operating period: May–October (daily), November–April (by appointment only).
