Ktima Barafaka
Intro
Estate
Ktima Barafaka was established in 2002 by oenologist Christos Barafakas, continuing a family tradition that began in the 1920s. The first bottling took place in 2004 at the modern winery, located at the foothills of Prophet Elias, in the PDO Nemea zone. The family's philosophy is based on balancing tradition with modern techniques. Ktima Barafaka has received significant international accolades, such as: Silver Award – Decanter 2025 (Apocalypsis, Sixty-Nine Steps). Grand Gold – Frankfurt International Exhibition.
Vineyards
Today, the estate has 180 stremmas of privately owned vineyards, at altitudes ranging from 200 to 815 meters — the highest cultivation point in Nemea. The variety range and microclimate differentiation allow for a multifaceted expression of the local winemaking identity. The annual production reaches 300,000 bottles and includes 13 labels. The winery's range includes: Magic Van (white & red): expressive blends with a fruity character. Saint Modesto: Grenache Rouge with Agiorgitiko, a red with intensity and balance. Malagouzia “69 Steps”: single-variety, with intense aromatic clarity. Apocalypsis Nemea: premium Agiorgitiko with aging potential. Chilia Chronia (white & red): select expressions of Chardonnay and Agiorgitiko. Protos Athlos Nemea: a classic label of the region. Three Witches (white, red & rosé): modern choices, with the rosé standing out as a semi-sweet sparkling with fruit and floral aromas.

The winery is fully accessible and offers organized tours and tastings: Tours of the vineyards, production areas, cellar, and aging cellar.
