Mitravelas Estate
Intro
Mitravelas Estate is one of the oldest modern wineries in Nemea.
Estate
Founded in 1913 by the Mitravelas brothers in the city center, continuing a family tradition dating back to the 19th century. In 2003, Konstantinos Mitravelas took over management. The estate's wines have been awarded medals in international competitions. The production has a strong export character, with presence in the USA, United Kingdom, Australia, Netherlands, Belgium, Cyprus, and Germany.
Vineyards
The estate has approximately 80 stremmas of privately owned vineyards in the Nemea zone. The main focus is on Agiorgitiko, with low yields. Mitravelas Estate (PDO Nemea) – 100% Agiorgitiko from vines over 40 years old, aged 6–8 months in French barrels. Red on Black – the first Nemea released in tanks in the Greek market. White on Grey – from Moschofilero PDO Mantineia. Rosé Mitravelas – from Agiorgitiko, with minimal extraction. Old Vineyards – premium label from vineyards over 55 years old.
Tourism
Currently, the winery is not open to visitors, but there are plans to construct a new visitor area in Nemea, utilizing old tanks as an exhibition space, with potential support from state funding.
