Semeli Estate
Intro
Semeli Estate was founded in 1979 and today is one of the leading wineries in Greece. It is located in Koutsi, Nemea, at an altitude of approximately 600 meters, and since 2003 has operated as one of the most modern and architecturally impressive wineries in the country, in full harmony with the natural landscape.
Estate
Semeli Estate has received significant awards and international distinctions, recognized as one of the most important wineries in the country, both for the quality of its wines and for the comprehensive wine tourism experience it offers.
Vineyards
The winery manages privately owned vineyards with a total area of approximately 250 stremmas in the PDO zones of Nemea and Mantineia. It cultivates Greek varieties such as Agiorgitiko and Moschofilero, as well as international ones like Roditis, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The viticultural approach focuses on quality, with low yields per stremma and an emphasis on terroir. The winery is designed as a gravity-flow facility, utilizing the slope of the land so that the flow of grapes and wine occurs without pumping, ensuring gentle handling and high quality.
Tourism
Semeli Estate is a top wine tourism destination, just 1.5 hours from Athens. Visitors enjoy: Tours of the vineyards and production areas. Tastings (€24–33), often combined with meals.
