Ktima Akrani
Intro
Ktima Akrani is located in the area of Asfendiou, at the foothills of Mount Dikaios. The name "Akrani," meaning "friend/companion" in Byzantine, reflects the winery's philosophy: wines that become companions for every occasion.
Estate
The vision of the Triantafyllopoulos family began in the early 1990s, with the planting of the first vineyards at the Miniera site in 1996. The first bottlings were presented in 2003, and in 2007, Kos officially received the PGI designation, thanks to the family's dedication.
Vineyards
The estate spans 150 stremmas of privately owned vineyards, with a parallel experimental section. The cultivation is organic and sustainable, without the use of chemicals, aiming to create a balanced ecosystem. The winery implements ISO22000 certification, focusing on vineyard health and the authentic expression of the terroir. Labels: Ktima Akrani White (PGI Kos) – blend of Athiri and Assyrtiko, Miniera Single Vineyard, Malagousia 100%, Naturally Sweet White Wine (2019).
Tourism
The estate offers comprehensive experiences including: Tours of the vineyard and facilities. Tastings in different packages (“Anigma”, “Enoma”, “Karpima”). Vertical tastings (e.g., Syrah from different years). Wine & food pairings in a modern, atmospheric setting.
