Santa Thecla Vineyards
Estate
Santa Thecla Vineyards are located in Serifos, in the area of Sklavogianni, next to the chapel of Agia Thecla. Here, ancient, self-rooted (pre-phylloxera) vines are preserved, possibly dating back to the late 19th century.
Vineyards
The winery's vision is to preserve and highlight rare local varieties, with full respect for the natural environment. The varieties cultivated include Serifiotiko, Aidani, Assyrtiko, Kountoura, Tsampato, Platiraho, and Psarosyriko. Cultivation is manual, while the microclimate of the Serifos hinterland (meltemia, altitude) protects the vines from diseases and imparts a fresh, mineral dimension to the wines. Santa Thecla White (2022): Composition: 60% Serifiotiko, with Aidani, Assyrtiko, Kountoura, Tsampato, plus small amounts of Kerino & Psarosyriko. Character: Dry white, with aromas of peach, green apple, citrus, and a strong sea breeze. Palate: Medium body, high acidity, lemony, long finish. Aging: 7 months on lees. Rating: On Vivino ~4.1/5, with reviews mentioning elegance, freshness, and aromatic clarity.
