Angelaki Winery
Intro
Angelaki Winery is located in the village of Thrapsano Pediados, Crete, an area known for its pottery tradition since ancient times.
Estate
The family has roots dating back to the early 20th century — the great-grandmother of the current winemaker, Evangelia Angelaki, born in 1908, is a cornerstone of the family history. The first building that housed the effort, and today operates as the winery, was the old family stable.
Vineyards
Native varieties such as Thrapsathiri, Kotsifali, Moschato Spinas, Liatiko, as well as international ones like Syrah, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc are cultivated. The estate's philosophy highlights the connection between local tradition and wine innovation. Part of the winemaking — fermentation and aging — takes place in clay vessels.
Tourism
The winery is open to visitors by appointment, offering tours of the vineyards and facilities, as well as wine tastings. It stands out for its authentic Cretan hospitality and the integration of local cultural heritage into the experience.
