Zidianakis Garage Winery
Intro
Zidianakis Garage Winery is one of the most characteristic examples of the new, groundbreaking scene of Cretan wine. It is located in Agios Myronas, a historic village in the Municipality of Heraklion in Crete, known for its viticultural tradition. The winery was established by the Zidianakis family, following the concept of an authentic "garage winery" — a small, handcrafted production of limited bottles (micro-winery), where the emphasis is on absolute detail, experimentation, and high quality, far from the logic of mass industrial production.
Estate
It is located in Agios Myronas, a historic village in the Municipality of Heraklion in Crete. The winery was established by the Zidianakis family.
Vineyards
The vineyards are located in the wider semi-mountainous area of Agios Myronas, at an altitude that offers ideal conditions for maintaining acidity and developing rich aromas in the grapes. The terroir is characterized by limestone soils and beneficial winds. Cultivation is carried out with absolute respect for nature, and the harvest is strictly manual. Varieties such as Vidiano, Liatiko, Kotsifali, Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon are cultivated and vinified. Indicative labels include Zidianakis Vidiano, Zidianakis Liatiko, and Garage Red / Blend.
Tourism
The venue does not operate as a typical, mass-visited estate. It is open to true wine enthusiasts, oenologists, and curious tasters who desire a completely personal and custom experience. Visits, tours, and tastings of rare bottles are exclusively by communication and appointment.
