Intro
Halkia Winery is located in Nemea, Corinthia (Efstathiou Street 20). The Halkia family has been involved in the region's viticulture for over a century.
Estate
In 2003, Anna Halkia (Arapoglou) began bottling, and by 2007, the vineyards had fully transitioned to certified organic cultivation.
Vineyards
The winery is a pioneer in natural winemaking and organic cultivation, following the principles of minimal intervention. All wines are unprocessed (unfiltered/unfined), with minimal sulfites (~30 mg/l). Production is small-scale from approximately 3.7 ha of privately owned vineyards, at an altitude of 280–330 m on clay-limestone soils. Cultivated varieties include: Agiorgitiko, Assyrtiko, Roditis, Kydonitsa. Main labels: Halkia Red, Halkia Reddish, Halkia Amber, Halkia Nemea.
Tourism
The winery is open to visitors by appointment and offers: Tours of the vineyards, winery, and cellar. Tasting of natural wines (cost: €25). Pet-friendly environment. Parking spaces and overnight stay options for campervans (with a small fee). Visitors rate the experience 5/5.
