Karamitsos Winery
Intro
Karamitsos Winery is located at the entrance of Nemea, directly opposite the historic monastery of Panagia tou Vrachou. The Karamitsos family has been involved in the region's viticulture for approximately 70 years.
Estate
The first small winery began operations in 2002, while the new, modern winery started its activities in 2016.
Vineyards
All wines are produced exclusively from privately owned vineyards. The range of wines includes: Poseidon – Dry white from Assyrtiko, Aphrodite – Rosé from Agiorgitiko, Two Lions White / Red – Blends inspired by the Nemean Lion, Sporos, Riza, Tree of Life, Spirit of Pink, Niki. Total production: ~200,000 liters annually. Bottling: 40% of production. Aging: Underground cellar with French oak barrels.
Tourism
The winery is open to visitors daily (10:00–17:00), with or without an appointment. Tours are offered in the vineyards, winery, and cellar. Tastings are conducted indoors and outdoors, with the capacity to host up to 150 people indoors and 500 people outdoors.
