Karadimos Winery
Intro
Karadimos Winery is located in the village of Megaplatanos in Atalanti (Fthiotida), on the protected slopes of Mount Knimida, a few kilometers northwest of the village.
Estate
The first plantings were made in 1998 with Assyrtiko, followed by Malagouzia and Sauvignon Blanc (1999) and Xinomavro (2000).
Vineyards
The estate has approximately 65 stremmas of privately owned vineyards: 32 stremmas of Malagouzia, 17 stremmas of Assyrtiko, 6 stremmas of Sauvignon Blanc, and 10 stremmas of Xinomavro. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of about 400 meters, on calcareous clay soils, with a natural breeze from Mount Parnassus and the Northern Euboean Gulf. Certified organic cultivation (BIO HELLAS) has been applied from the beginning. Varieties cultivated include: Assyrtiko, Malagouzia, Xinomavro, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Notable labels: Vissa, Paleokastra 2023, Drios Malagousia, Maestro Malagouzia.
Tourism
The winery welcomes visitors in a serene, picturesque setting with vineyards surrounding the archaeological site of Vissa. The organic philosophy and local identity enhance the tasting and wine tourism experience.
