Winery 3 Generations (Thomaidis Family)
Intro
Winery 3 Generations is based in Piperiá Almopia and represents the natural evolution of a long-standing family tradition that began decades ago. The modern form of the winery reflects the passion of the Thomaidis family, who have managed to transform the experience of the older generations into a model unit for producing quality wines, closely linking their name with the viticultural zone of Pella.
Estate
The history of the winery, as its name suggests, spans three generations of viticulturists. The transition from traditional cultivation to modern winemaking was made with respect for the grandfather's legacy, enriched by the knowledge of the second generation and the drive of the third. Today, the winery combines family warmth with the latest technological advancements, focusing on producing wines that express the unique character of the region.
Vineyards
The privately-owned vineyards extend at the foothills of Mount Paiko and Kaimaktsalan, in an area with a unique microclimate favored by the climatic conditions of Almopia. The soil provides the necessary drainage and nutrients for the thriving of both Greek and international varieties. The vineyard is dominated by Xinomavro, the emblematic variety of Macedonia, while Merlot, Syrah, and white varieties such as Amassi—a rare variety highlighted by the winery—Malagousia, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay are also successfully cultivated.
Tourism
Winery 3 Generations is open to wine enthusiasts, offering an authentic hospitality experience. Visitors have the opportunity to tour the production and aging facilities, learn about the stages of winemaking, and taste the family's labels in the specially designed tasting area. A visit to the estate is an ideal stop for those exploring the Almopia region, combining wine knowledge with the natural beauty of Pella.
