Ktima Mesimvria
Intro
The winery is located in Nea Mesimvria, on the hills northwest of Thessaloniki, at an altitude of approximately 200 meters, overlooking the Thermaic Gulf.
Estate
Founded in 1996 by Periklis Drachas and Theodoros Paraskevopoulos with the aim of showcasing the viticultural potential of the area and producing high-quality wines.
Vineyards
The vineyards are located near the winery, cultivated without irrigation and with low yield per stremma for better concentration of flavors and aromas. The soil is sandy-loam and sloping. White varieties: Malagousia, Roditis, Muscat of Alexandria, Assyrtiko, Sauvignon Blanc. Red varieties: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. Main labels: Zoiforos, Macedonian Zoiforos, Flogoinos, Moschato Bello, Retsina Vasiliki, Vasiliko Tsipouro.
Tourism
The winery is open to visitors and offers tours of the facilities and vineyards (March–October). It also participates in events and initiatives that highlight the wine heritage of Macedonia.
