Ktima t' Apostoli
Intro
Ktima t' Apostoli is located in the village of Ampeloi, Serres, approximately 15 km southwest of Lake Kerkini, at an altitude of 50–150 meters on the foothills of Mount Vertiskos.
Estate
Founded between 2004–2009 by the Goulas & Floros families, starting with the planting of 65 stremmas. The area has a historical terroir, as it has been associated with viticulture since 479 BC, when the Visaltes had established vineyards there. The winery has won several distinctions and awards for its labels, including the “Erifyli” silver medal, score 90/100, the “Dakry Haras” bronze medal, and the “Tsipouro without anise” gold medal, score 91/100 at the Thessaloniki Wine & Spirits Trophy.
Vineyards
The estate has 65 stremmas of privately owned, dry-farmed vineyards, with yields of ~500 kg/stremma for whites and ~600 kg/stremma for reds. Cultivation has been organic since 2004, certified by DIO and ISO 2020. It also produces the first certified organic tsipouro in Greece without anise. The estate's international varieties include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, while the Greek varieties are Malagousia, Muscat of Alexandria & Samos. The main series & products of the winery are “Erifyli” (2011), “Dakry Haras” (2019), as well as “Tsipouro without anise.”
Tourism
The winery is open to visitors by appointment and offers tours of the vineyards, winery, and distillery, wine and tsipouro tastings, and food & wine pairing in the specially designed Gastronomos Hall. It also offers wine tourism experiences such as wine boating on Lake Kerkini with BBQ and local delicacies. Finally, the estate organizes events for up to 120 people, musical tastings (swing, jazz), and ecological decoration with recycled barrels.
