Euphrosyne Winery
Intro
Euphrosyne Winery is located in the village of Kerasia, in the Municipality of Heraklion, Crete, within the PDO Daphnes wine zone, renowned for Liatiko. It is a small family business that combines tradition, knowledge, and modern expertise.
Estate
Its history begins in 1999 with the replanting of the family vineyards and culminates with the establishment of the winery in 2004.
Vineyards
The vineyards are cultivated organically, respecting the environment and local heritage. The white indigenous varieties include Vidiano, Malvasia di Candia, and Assyrtiko, while the red varieties are dominated by Liatiko and Kotsifali. Additionally, international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Chardonnay are cultivated. The winery's collection includes both single-varietal and blends, many of which have received accolades: Mikri Evgeniki (White) – Vidiano 100%, Mikri Evgeniki (Red) – Liatiko 100%, Ypomoni – Liatiko (with aging potential), Klefthis – Assyrtiko & Malvasia Aromatica (Gold 2021), Peteinari – Liatiko & Kotsifali, Nychtopouli – Kotsifali & Liatiko (Gold 2018), Sophia – Chardonnay & Vidiano (Gold 2019), Filoxenia – Syrah & Kotsifali, Isorropia – Cabernet Sauvignon 100% (Gold 2017).
Tourism
The winery is open to visitors by appointment and offers a complete experience: vineyard tour, production area tour, storytelling of its history, and wine tasting, all with authentic Cretan hospitality.
