Limniona
Introduction
Limniona is the most brilliant example of oenological renaissance in the modern Greek vineyard. From an almost extinct variety of Thessaly, it has transformed in just two decades into the 'rising star' of the country's red wines. Often referred to as the 'Greek Pinot Noir' due to its unparalleled elegance, velvety tannins, and refined aromatic profile, it stands unique among the more 'robust' traditional Greek red varieties.
Tasting Notes
Limniona wine epitomizes the balance between power and finesse.
Terroir
Origin: Its homeland is Thessaly, centered around Tyrnavos and Karditsa. Today it is cultivated throughout Thessaly (Tyrnavos, Karditsa, Meteora), but has successfully expanded to Macedonia (Amyntaio, Drama) and Central Greece.
