Vossos (Kefalonia)
Introduction
It is one of the "lost" grapes of Kefalonia that has survived over time, often cultivated in traditional, mixed vineyards. Although Robola steals the spotlight on the island, Vossos is an excellent example of the Ionian's diversity.
Tasting Notes
Color: Pale lemon with bright highlights. Aromas: Notable for its citrus notes (lemon, citron) and a strong herbaceous character reminiscent of fresh herbs and wildflowers. Palate: It is dry, with sharp acidity and a light sense of minerality on the finish.
Terroir
Region: Mainly cultivated in Kefalonia, at altitudes that favor slow ripening. Terroir: Prefers the limestone and rocky soils of the island. Its ability to draw minerality from the soil is its great asset. Result: Produces wines with high acidity and distinctive nerve, differing from the softer varieties of the rest of Greece.
