Vryniotis Winery
Intro
The Vryniotis Estate is located in the picturesque village of Gialtra, just 14 km from Aidipsos, in Northern Evia. It is a family business with deep roots: the ancestors of Konstantinos Vryniotis cultivated vineyards and owned a stone wine press in the area long ago, passing down their knowledge and passion to new generations.
Estate
The new winery, built next to the old wine press, follows traditional architecture and blends into the landscape. The winery is certified with ISO 22000:2005 and ISO 9001:2001. The wines of Vryniotis Estate have received international accolades in institutions such as Decanter and Robert Parker, with a prime example being the Iama Red 2022, recognized for its exceptional expression of Vradiano.
Vineyards
The privately owned vineyards cover ~100 stremmas, at an altitude of 200–450 meters, on the slopes of Mount Telethrio. Both traditional Evian varieties such as Vradiano, Mavrokountoura, and Aidani, as well as popular Greek & international varieties like Syrah, Assyrtiko, Malagouzia, and Monemvasia are cultivated. The Estate offers 13 labels with distinct identities: Methea (white, rosé, red), Iama (white, rosé, red), OMMA single varietals: Assyrtiko sur lie, Vradiano wild ferment, Syrah wild ferment, Retsina Gialtra, Sparky…ing (semi-sparkling), G & G Plus (dessert). The winery has particularly highlighted the Vradiano variety, offering a full range: Blanc de Noir, rosé, red, dessert, and single varietal red Iama, with extraction and 12-month barrel aging.
Tourism
It is open to visitors all year round, featuring a tasting room with panoramic views of the vineyards, the Euboean Gulf, Aidipsos, and the Aegean.
