Vergitsis Winery
Intro
Vergitsis Winery is located in the central part of Heraklion Prefecture, Crete, in the area of Epano Archanes, one of the most renowned and historic viticultural zones in Greece. The Vergitsis family maintains a long tradition that is inextricably linked to viticulture and wine. Today, the winery combines valuable family experience with modern oenological methods.

Vergitsis Winery is situated in Epano Archanes, Heraklion, Crete, in a historic PDO zone. The Vergitsis family has a long-standing tradition in viticulture dating back to the early last century.
Vineyards
The privately-owned vineyards are located on the slopes of the Archanes area, at an altitude of 350-450 meters, with clay-loam soil and a unique microclimate. The vineyards are tended with low yield per stremma and manual harvesting. The winery specializes in the varieties Kotsifali, Mandilari, Vidiano, Vilana, Thrapsathiri, and Syrah. The labels include Vergitsis White, Vergitsis Vidiano, Vergitsis Rosé, Archanes (PDO) Vergitsis, and Vergitsis Syrah.
Tourism
Vergitsis Winery is open to visitors and offers tours of the production and aging facilities, as well as wine tastings accompanied by local Cretan delicacies. It is recommended to contact the winery for reservations prior to visiting.
