Strataridakis Winery
Intro
Strataridakis Winery is located in the southern part of Heraklion Prefecture, Crete, at the foothills of the Asterousia Mountains, in the area of Agioi Apostoloi – Kasteliana in the municipality of Arkalohori. The family tradition began in 1954 when Aristeidis Strataridakis acquired the monastic estate, recognizing the unique geographical advantages of the area.

Vineyards
The vineyards are situated on mountain slopes with a southeast orientation. Cultivation is done using the traditional Guyot system and is part of an agro-ecological landscape that includes olive groves, pistachio trees, and natural flora. Harvesting is done manually. Varieties cultivated include Moschato Spinas, Vilana, Vidiano, Chardonnay, Kotsifali, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot. Indicative labels include Aspra Charakia, Moschato Spinas, Strata, Thalassinos, Strataridakis Assyrtiko, Ichniatis, Kokkina Homata, Barbatus, and Vera Rosa.
Tourism
The winery is open every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from May to September (11:00–18:00). It offers tours of the facilities, wine tastings, vineyard tours, and participation in events such as the annual festival of Agioi Apostoloi (June 30).
