Sklavos Estate
Intro
The Sklavos family has its roots in Livatho, Kefalonia, with commercial activity dating back to the 18th century. After returning to the area in 1919, the first vineyards were planted in the region of Kechria, in Palli, contributing to the revival of local viticulture.
Vineyards
The estate cultivates approximately 50 stremmas of biodynamic vineyards in Palli, on limestone soils with low organic matter. The vines have an average age of over 70 years. A traditional goblet training system is used. Yields remain low (~400 kg/stremma). Since 1990, homeodynamic–biodynamic practices have been applied, following the agricultural calendar, respecting the relationship between soil, plant, and environment. The philosophy is based on natural methods: Fermentation with indigenous yeasts, Long aging on lees, No filtration or preservatives. Main labels: Lacomatia — 100% Robola of Kefalonia, biodynamically cultivated, with a rich body, high acidity, and aromas of citrus and pineapple. Efranor — dry white from Vostilidi & Moschatela (PGI Slopes of Ainos), organically cultivated.
