Tasionas Winery
Intro
Tasionas Winery, based in Ramnista Giannakochori in Naoussa, is one of the most recent and intriguing additions to the historic winemaking zone of Imathia.
Estate
Although the modern winery was officially established in 2020 by Nikolaos Tasionas, the family's viticultural tradition dates back to the late 19th century. Nikolaos Tasionas' endeavor realized the dream of his father, Thomas, who had already planted the family-owned vineyards in the renowned area of Ramnista in the 1970s. Today, the sixth generation of the family—Nikolaos' two daughters, Maria and Elpida—are actively involved. The winery is a member of the Union of Northern Greece Winemakers.
Vineyards
The estate's vineyards cover approximately 50 stremmas in the heart of the Naoussa PDO zone, in the locations of Ramnista and Tsatali Giannakochori. At an altitude of 150-250 meters and with clay-loam soil, the family exclusively cultivates Xinomavro. The area's microclimate, with mild winters and warm summers cooled by the night breezes from Vermio, allows the variety to develop its multifaceted character. The winery focuses on showcasing the different expressions of Xinomavro through three single-varietal labels: a robust red Naoussa PDO, a white Blanc de Noir, and a semi-dry rosé.
Tourism
The winery is open to visitors by appointment. Guests have the opportunity to tour Ramnista and taste the wines at their place of production. The experience focuses on understanding how a centuries-old family tradition is transformed into modern winemaking, offering authentic and warm hospitality.
