Ktima Alpha
Intro
Located in the PGI Amyntaio–Florina zone, in northwestern Macedonia, at an altitude of 620–710 meters, overlooking the Vegoritida and Petron lakes.
Estate
Founded in 1997 by viticulturist Makis Mavridis and oenologist Angelos Iatridis, with the aim of showcasing the unique terroir of the region. Exports wines to the USA, Canada, Europe, and Asia.
Vineyards
Privately owned contiguous vineyard of 2,250 stremmas (225 ha), with gentle slopes and a northwestern orientation. Sandy clay soils with a limestone subsoil and a cool microclimate thanks to the lakes and winds of the area. Gravity-flow winemaking is applied for minimal intervention and maximum quality. ISO 22000 & ISO 14001 certifications, with an emphasis on sustainable management. Cultivated Greek varieties (Malagousia, Xinomavro, Assyrtiko) and international ones (Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir). Iconic labels: Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Alpha One, Alpha Xinomavro Reserve, Alpha Red, Malagousia, Omega.
Tourism
Open daily, by appointment (10:00–16:00). Includes a tour of the vineyards, a visit to the winemaking facilities and underground cellars, as well as tastings in the elegant tasting room, with the option for personalized wine tourism packages.
