Moschopolis Winery
Intro
Moschopolis Winery is located in Monopigado, Thessaloniki, at an altitude of 300–500 m, offering panoramic views of Mount Olympus and the Thermaic Gulf.
Estate
Founded in 2016 by Georgios Germanis, a soil scientist with over 30 years of experience in viticulture. The winery has received international awards: Moschopolis 6 → Gold, Berliner Wine Trophy 2017; Moschopolis 18 → Silver, Decanter Awards 2019 (91 points); Aiora White → Silver, Mundus Vini 2019; Aiora Red → Bronze, Thessaloniki International Competition 2019.
Vineyards
The vineyards cover approximately 19 stremmas, with 11 in production. The winery's philosophy is oriented towards organic and regenerative cultivation, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2025. The innovative practice of hanging grapes (at a height of 1.8 m) is applied for better aeration. Yields are limited to just 500 kg/stremma. The portfolio combines Greek and international varieties: Moschopolis Series (Moschopolis 6 → Assyrtiko 90% & Xinomavro 10%, Moschopolis 8 → Xinomavro 70% & Syrah 30%, Moschopolis 18 → Mavrotragano 50% & Syrah 50%, Moschopolis 24 → Pinot Noir 95% & Assyrtiko 5%), Aiora Amphora Series (White Amphora → Assyrtiko, Malagousia, Xinomavro, Red Amphora → Blend Mavrotragano, Syrah, Xinomavro), also single-varietal versions of Assyrtiko & Malagousia.
