Eastern Macedonia and Thrace
Eastern Macedonia and Thrace is one of the major wine regions of northern Greece, with vineyards stretching from the slopes of Mount Pangaio to the plains and coastal zones of Thrace. The climate blends continental and maritime influences, while varied soils and elevations create favorable conditions for quality wine production. The area includes the PDO Pangaio zone as well as several PGI designations such as PGI Drama, PGI Kavala, PGI Pangaio, and PGI Thrace, highlighting the region’s modern viticultural dynamism.
