Damaskios Winery
Intro
Damaskios Winery, based in Nea Mesimvria, Thessaloniki, is a family business with deep roots extending over more than seven decades. Today, the third generation of the Damaskos family continues the tradition, combining years of experience with modern winemaking techniques, highlighting the unique terroir of the Macedonian land.
Estate
The history of the winery began in 1951. Its philosophy is based on the harmonious balance between tradition and technology. In recent years, the younger family members, Miltos and Giorgos, have undertaken a dynamic repositioning of the estate, focusing on the production of wines of high aesthetic and quality.
Vineyards
The estate's privately owned vineyards cover approximately 250 stremmas in the Nea Mesimvria zone, at an altitude of 150-200 meters. The ecosystem of the area, with its rich soil and favorable climatic conditions, allows for the thriving of a wide variety of grapes. Among the white varieties, Assyrtiko, Muscat of Alexandria, Chardonnay, and Roditis stand out. For the reds, the family cultivates Xinomavro, Limnio, as well as international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah.
Tourism
The winery is a welcoming stop for wine enthusiasts touring the Thessaloniki area. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about the production process up close and taste the estate's labels, such as the popular "King for a Day" (Chardonnay) or the classic blends of the "Damaskios" series. The visit offers an authentic experience of getting to know the Macedonian vineyard, just a few kilometers outside the city.
